Oh, so many whiskies, so little time......in the $80 to $100 range you have some giants you can try. In no particular order of preference:

Lagavullin 16 yr
Glenmorangie Nectar D'or (sweet, finished in an ice wine cask, dessert scotch)
Highland Park 18 yr (outstanding!)
Aberlour 18 (heavy toffee and caramel notes, one of my favorites)
Oban.....enough said
Balvenie Signature
Coal Ila 18 yr (amazing stuff, I actually think its nicer than the Lagavullin)
Scapa 16.....very lovely stuff
Cardu. Always a winner
Bowmore Mariner 15, if you can find it. This might be the top of my list if I was being partial....

All of the above are in my cabinet, and they are all outstanding in their own way. It really depends on what you like, peaty smokey, beeswax and heather, caramel and toffee......I think I have to go have a dram now! Goodness, I love whisky!
