I wish there were lots of Goldeye here like there used to be.

Lots of people don't like them but not me. I'd just as soon eat them as any slimy slough shark.

Plus they are every bit as sporting to catch as any trout and ten times easier to clean.

The only down side to them as far as I'm concerned is the flesh has no texture and they can be oily, especially in southern waters.

I caught some in the Red Deer river years ago. Those were too oily even for me.

But alas, the Goldeye are few and far between in the Peace River now.
