There is no doubt the .308 case family is more powder efficient than the .30-06 family. Going up in bore size also increases efficiency so my vote is the .338 federal for the criteria of biggest game at up to 350yards.
Personally I’d go with a .30-06 as I feel your getting a little FPS extra which will be good at 350 yards over a .308.
