I hunted bison a couple winters ago. In the dead of winter with daytime highs in the -30 range. We stayed in a warm work camp in Zama each night. Gained a few lbs on meals cooked by a sweet crew of Newfie women.
One day, we ran across a couple of (tougher!) fellow hunters. They had a wall tent set up along one of the backroads. They had been there for 2 weeks, and had never seen warmer than minus 25. They had seen one bison for their effort, and had blown the shot.
