One thing many are not discussing is the finish of the gun. A gun in a natural wood or laminated stock will provide some relief versus a super light synthetic stock. The difference is mind numbing when comparing each other and the variation on recoil. Calibre , for me it would be .260 R.E.M. But I'm biased. For others the 7mm-08. Unless have you have Bentley Cobens ol' Bertha .243, it's a gun that too many grow out of too fast. Just my two cents
