Train the dog with a check cord while you are still the most important thing in the dogs life that "come" or "heel" or "here" is not optional when you say it. check cord leads him to the right decision every time. calling him without a method of leading him to the right decision teaches a dog that obedience is optional. That sounds like sound advice. She sure doesn't come sometimes and I don't want to play the chase game.
