I would add the entry of pet insurance hasn't helped either like it doesn't help for dental prices. When institutions know bills are backed by big money prices don't tend to go down LOL. Premiums soon follow in a vicious upward cycle. Hey worry not about excessive vet prices your pet can be covered for only $400/mo to infinity...oh phew dodged a bullet!
You are correct in that insurance has not helped vet prices do anything but go up.
