Have you counted the number of "subsistence" nets in the prime walleye areas of the lake on a year round basis? Walleye are the target fish, not whites, pike, or burbot, with a lot of walleye leaving the lake as a result. Having lived in the area for 35 odd years, I personally know most of these fishermen and have heard their stories of how many and how large their catches are.
I am surprised that tags were issued. Use them while you can!!!!
