I use it all the time for leader/tippet with my fly rod/reel. I also use it for spin fishing and I haven't had a problem with it yet. I have bought bad spools of line though, and if they've been in sunlight for a long time, throw it away.
Make sure you lube you knots before you cinch them up, cause the heat caused will weaken the line. You can go a little bigger with Flourcarbon, since its less visable then Mono. Use an improved clinch knot, with lots of spit and give your spool some 'tug tests'. I use 10lbs for Eye's, but 14-15 would work fine also.
