If you ever want to beat the record I know lots of places in BC that you stand a good chance in the summer to catch them 10+lbs. I will have to check with my brother if he has pics of any huge pike minnow he beats 7 lbs most years.
They are a major nuisance and a lot of fishermen feed them to the birds. There is also culls done by government. I used to get my kids, nieces, and nephews to catch them for trapping bait. I bet most don’t even know there is a record for them
