You are not wrong. Most anglers do have respect. I fished a river in ES1 last week and asked a gentleman which way he was going. He was annoyed I asked. So it all depends on the anglers. Fishing the gap on the old man it is common to avoid pools other fishers are in. Totally respectful. Don’t feel to quilty and have fun fishing.
