I noticed a big change in scenting conditions with the smoke and yes it was still very dry down here. Near the end of august we got a few days of good rain, the smoke cleared, and suddenly we were finding birds; or what was left of them.
Bird counts show populations are down 50-60 percent in southern alberta.
