Beaver hides
A little confusion with selling beaver hides. A person who traps or shoots beavers on private land do not need a trappers license to sell the hides to a registered fur buyer. It the same as the rule for hunters and farmers who shoot coyotes. The hunter can sell them using his wildlife certificate and the landowner or anyone who he gives permission to can sell both coyote and beavers using his legal land description. As a fur buyer I inquired with a senior wildlife officer in Stettler to make sure of the facts.
