If the dog is a repeat offender, or if the injury is more serious, I would consider suing, but would offer to drop the suit if the dog is destroyed. If the injury is severe, I would definitely consider suing. If I had to undergo treatment for rabies because the owner never bothered to vaccinate the dog, I would sue.
