Not sure if it's meant to come out all the time for cleaning but it certainly does come out. I have the exact same one as you and after using it a couple times it was heating up bad( to the point where it started cooking the meat), it actually partly melted that plastic bushing which apparently is not a common problem... Anyway long story short the manufacturer sent me another one which was rather easy to change and haven't had an issue since. I have grinded a lot of meat since with no further issues, I bought extra freezer packs for the throat but now there is no big problem. It still gets warm after doing a lot of meat but not melting the bushing hot not sure what caused it. Anyway it does come out
