I’ve had a Suzuki samurai and a Jeep JK, both 2dr rigs. Good in the bush but you would be white knuckling on the highway. That said I think I’d get a Toyota 4Runner with a 6” lift and some 33”-35” tires. I’ve never owned one but they seem to be a really capable 4 wheel drive when built properly.
