For hunting a longer shots I like to have a shooting stick, sometimes I’ll take the 27” bipod out when I’m coyote hunting. But mostly use the shooting stick for big game season. I sit and get set up, call and then hopefully get a shot. But sometimes you can bump your target, etc and not have time for bipod or shooting stick. If I’m comfortable I’ll take that shot free hand or get on a tree if possible.

Target shooting or at the range bench shooting I like a bipod on the front and sand bag under the but stock. I’ve thought about a monopod for the rear of my long range rifle.

Lots of options, practice them all and see what you feels best and see how it can help you in the long run as well being versatile.
