I had a cousin who built up a really nice Vega GT with a small block and lot's of nice work done to it. That thing was crazy fast.
Something really neat about some of the smaller "muscle" cars of that period that's pretty cool.
Some big shoes on the back and you had all the traction you needed to staple you to the seat when you dropped the hammer.
