I'm a firm believer in teaching yourself (as someone else said, teach the guy holding the leash). I have a 9 month old lab that I've done on my own (first gun dog) and she is a retrieving monster. I used several different resources but the bases of her training was a book called game dog by Richard A. Wolters and it has worked amazingly. I have copied the link to the book in a video format but the book for sure goes into more detail as well as diagrams etc etc.
Anyway, if you don't want to train yourself as someone else stated Maunty at ringneck kennels does awesome work. I was going to send mine there should I have struggled with her. I wanted to learn myself as I will be getting many, many more pups and to spend over $3000 to have each one trained up starts to add up over time.
