Finished my second lot of 50 rounds of 45-70. I rolled up another 5 charge weights to test.
I’m getting used to the big case. I think it’s akin to the BMG case. It has its own particularities. Such as feel. How it sizes. How it crimps.
This batch is better then the first batch. I’ve got the crimping die set up perfectly now. But it is different than the other smaller calibers that I crimp. Much more force is required to get a decent crimp. Also, I was very particular on the case length after sizing so that the crimp would be consistent. My margin was +/-.001”.
