Its not just cars and I would dare say those making a living are doing it on smaller items. If you click on the persons other ads, some have pages.
I have met a few making living and they claim the trick is to keep items moving and don't get greedy even if you could make 10 times the mark up over time.
People selling a thousand items at 2 dollars profit each is making the same money as someone selling one 10,000 truck. Folks come and pick the stuff up so there is no added expense other than purchasing.
One lady I met spends 6 hours a day 3 days a week online answering e-mails and refreshing ads. She also spends 2 days a week purchasing. Her husband works and they do extremely well for themselves. Obviously there could be some side stepping when it comes to tax time.
