I must admit, I probably have way more rifles than I need. To give an honest answer though, my trusty .338 Win Mag is my "go to" when it comes to hunting in elk or moose country. For deer sized game I carry my .257 Wby or 6.5-284 Norma. Could I get by with just one? Sure. I wouldn't hesitate using any of these or some of my other rifles in a one gun arsenal. What it always comes down to is shot placement, if you can consistently put the bullet where you're supposed to at the ranges you intend to shoot, the cartridge choice is irrelevant.
