I lighter weight shoot flat bowsof about 42 pounds in my later years , really slow by today's compound bow standards .
I also like heavier cedar arrows and broadheads of about 145 - 160 grains grains.
The balance for me is a heavy arrow flying straight out to about 30 or 40ish yards which the only thing I will shoot at is small game at that distance
If I can bring my bow up and release an arrow into my target at 20 yards in a split second, I'm good with that.
Been shooting recurves and flat bows since 1966 so I'm a bit set in my ways and I'm okay with that

Anytime I figure I've got this long range thing figured out, I just strap into the sling and irons and remind myself that I don't!
