I think I know the stuff you are talking about and if it's the same I don't think it will work. I tried it this last fall to get a new gasket to adhere to my stove door but it didn't go so well on the fly. With a completely controlled environment where you can get it to high temp at the exact right time it might work. In the end I don't think a jack will see that.
