just curious here, I used to live in Calgary, caught probably a few thousand rockies and a lot were on a hackle-less fly I tied with just orange thread on the hook, a good number of wraps to bulk it up a wee bit. sometimes also with a brown hackle but just thin. do you ever try something like this for whites? I catch the odd one but always on a big minnow and quarter ounce jig, I dont really care to target them I prefer fish that bite back
Ive gotten more with a bow than a rod that gets exciting
