Lost dogs in this area seldom survive one night as the coyotes will cut his trail tonight and follow him until they find him. Puppies automatically go into submissive posture when threatened but in the case of coyotes they just tear into them. Shepherds, hounds as well as Irish setters have been run down by a pack and killed in this area.
