I've never heard it called an odd six and I've been around a long time. Back to when the Springfield was one of the top 3.
English people will often refer to ZERO as Naught or Nought which is sometimes shortened to Aught or Ought. And thus the 30-"Aught" six was named.
Odd is just....odd, and is simply a misspeak.
