I've had the same pair of Hanwag's for 25 years. I've used them for work and play. They've taken a hell of a beating and I would recommend them.
(Note: there is another thread on AO about Hanwag's and the customer service doesn't sound good. Not sure if that's a change in service level or just a weird thing.)
