You should look at the eyelet material that the line will make contact with. If it is plastic, stick with mono (braid will cut thru plastic eventually), if it is metal you can run with braid.
As others have also mentioned, I'd also go with Power Pro (20lbs) as mainline with a few feet of mono (4lbs-12lbs) for leader depending on what you are targeting.
Haven't ran a Penn before so I stay on the side on that one. Spare spools are good to have to allow quick set-up changes.
