Chin used to be open until Thanksgiving monday but now this year they close up middle of September and they doubled the launch fee this year for a shorter season. The EID has installed gates at all the boat launches in Crawling Valley, Rolling Hills and Newell. Once the Rolling Hills Campground and Crawling Valley campground shut down for the season, the EID is intending on locking those gates. Rolling Hills will be closed until next camping season, Crawling Valley until ice has formed on the Lake. As of now the plan is to keep Newell launches open, but there are gates there, and they can be used at any time.
