I had just done the whole front end on my step son's car and he had taken it in for an alignment. They said they could not do it since it need all new ball joints and tie rod ends. I was choked and he was too as the guy that owned the tire shop was a friend of his dad's. Took the receipts in and let them know they would not be getting any more of my business. I do everything at home as I have my own shop and am licensed. Ticks me off when I hear of poor service and gouging.

My wife has single female friends or friends that their significant other is not mechanically inclined. I work on their vehicles for a decent door rate and they leave happy.

Good techs are hard to find these days as the days of tinkering with dad are gone and the basic knowledge is not there to build off.
