It’s all so hit and miss, reality is you need to go somewhere that someone can vouch for you that they do good work or know a guy that works somewhere, otherwise good chance you get screwed.

I went to a big tire & repair chain in St Albert (not Kal Tire but similar) and got bent over the barrel and way over charged. And then the lead mechanic I was always dealing with was a condescending a-hole.

I now have two shops in Edmonton I deal with exclusively for all my repairs, one for general/small repairs and one for diesel repairs. Both trustworthy shops that are not trying to upsell any garbage.
