I have been having all kinds of funny issues with bait as well this year. I threw out scraps from 2 different deer and the only hit one of them. I threw 2 700 lb calves and the one that I cut the skin back they hit like a ton of bricks and the other is still sitting there. Had another bait with a roadkill deer that was only feeding the birds then I put 3 barrels of pig scraps out and the bait was licked clean (including the deer) the next check and I had 6 dogs in snares.
