I’ve always wanted a Commerical 6.8mm offering like this.
Sure it will be able to long range well if it's accurate but those 175's will penetrate very deeply and should be the first modern choice that rivals the old 6.5x55 Swede running 160 round noses for SD. The 175's go .326 and the swede's 160's go .328. The 175's being more modern in shape will have higher bc and it's range will be far extended beyond the 6.5x55's capabilities but it's also launched a like 350 fps faster as well. So it's almost likely looking at a 6.5x55 formula with a 21's century touch.

At first i'm very suspicious that winchester has the brains to get it right lately, the last big hit imo was the .270 wsm and i do like that one quite a bit and as mentioned it will show well against this and the PRC at even out to 600 yards no sweat. But i cannot ignore that .326 sd on those 175's....if you use a delayed controlled expansion tough bullet, it will 'end to end' some very thick critters within quite the distance windows. So it has numbers not to be ignored imo.

Even though it's a tough market they jumped into...they may have found the right direction with this one and big game hunters that want a very dynamic range of performance potentials.
