Sounds like a decent trip some don't even land one on there first go, congrats on the first ice laker. They definitely can be moody.
Couple I've gained some confidence in when it's slow are a storm rippin shad in pearl phantom and a pk flutter fish- red dot glo. Little piece of anchovie to sweeten. Never know though...
