I would take a Savage over a Remington SPS made in the last ten years for sure, unless I was using the SPS just for the action, was going to put a custom barrel on it and have the action trued. For a shoot out of the box gun, you are far more likely to get an accurate Savage than an accurate SPS.
That said, Tikka, Cooper, Browning, Weatherby and Sako all turn out consistently accurate out of the box guns.
There is a completely kitted out and scoped LH Sako AV with a McMillan stock (stock is worth over 600 alone) for $1500 in the buy sell. That would be a really
good deal for a gun to start hunting with. You couldn't put a Tikka together for that price.
