I have said this before to guys asking to get into archery. Go find yourself a high end used bow. Some really good deals out there on last years bows or a few years old.
I have had buddies that bought lower end bows and found out that they loved archery so much that they regretted buying the bow and wished they bough a higher end one.
You can find a few year old bow for 400-600 and should be able to find a good used bow all set up ready to shoot for 800.
If you do go this rout, make sure you take someone who knows bows, to make sure that everything is fine with the bow.
