Total waste of time in my experience.

I posted a thread about it a number of years ago and got told that much too. But of course I need to learn things for myself and they were right, it's pretty much a waste of time.

Sites that we would have 12 to 15 bears at in the spring would see 1 or 2 bears come in every 2 or 3 days with no regularity. And we run really good baits with a lot of variety.

I think (for the most part) bears would rather not eat at a bait and be around humans if there's other good food sources. Which is why as soon as the dandelions and clover are up in the spring, they're gone.
