With a price range of 500-1000$, you have quite a selection to choose from. Vortex viper is under 1000$, some vx3's and elite 6500's are under the 1000$ mark also.

I'd say look at a vortex, good glass and a good warranty.

All 3 of those scopes are really nice, just a matter of which one lights up good for you. The last scope I bought was a elite 4200 6.5-24x50 for my coyote rifle, of I had the cash I woulda gone with the vx3 4-20x50 by leupold, that's a nice scope.
