THis will no doubt become a lot longer list over the next few months if Trudope and crew can get their way with things, they want to add airsoft as well as BB guns. Maybe the court challnge will be successful against the RCMP on the FRT changes, maybe not. Hurry up and wait and see. Certainly didn't want to envision this when this thread got started, and really didn't believe they'd go this far, but, here we are;

To All Dealers:

It has been brought to our attention that the below listed Stoeger Airguns are classified by the RCMP in the FRT system as PROHIBITED. FRT Reference no. 196899.

Reason has been described that due to the USA having a version with internal baffles at the muzzle inside the shroud and the plastic shroud/handgrip of the Canadian version being the same, this constitutes it being a SUPPRESSOR BODY thus being a prohibited device.

We are currently in discussions with the RCMP to revise this classification as the Canadian version has a fully extended barrel to the end of the shroud, occupying the space where baffles would exist.

• S82061E S4000E SPORT SYN .177 (1200FPS)
• S82071E S4000E SPORT SYN COMBO .177 4X32 SCOPE (1200FPS)
• S82071EE S4000E SPORT SYN .177 COMBO 4X32 SCOPE (<495FPS)

We suggest that due to this classification you do not sell or deliver this model until such time of resolution.

Once we have exhausted our communication with the RCMP we will advise you of next steps.

If you would like more details on the RCMP rationale and or interested in contacting the RCMP directly for inquiry, feel free to contact your sales representative or our offices.

Thank you for your understanding and we work through this absurd classification rationale and situation.

Regards,

STOEGER MANAGEMENT
