You think Turdeau made pot legal because he didn't want all the pot smokers to be criminals anymore? That's hysterical.
He saw a way to buy votes and bring on yet another HUGE revenue stream. Nothing more. As an added bonus he could be on the right side of the law again himself.
And I think you're confused, it is civil protest that brings about change, not civil disobedience. The latter is illegal and gets you thrown in jail.
All pot users prior to October 17th were taking a calculated risk, not toking in protest.
