I have seen some shady deals struck with some individuals on the kitimat LNG project. A guy said he would block it unless he gets the contract for all security work there. And he sure did get it.

All they want is money. And no one called them out when they said no to transmountain then turned around and wanted to buy it.

Good luck canada
The shady side deal (bribes) happen all the time.

How Many of you read about the armed blockade north of Conklin something like ten years ago? Old native ladies trapline, has company skidded in a couple extra compressors to boost capacity... her boys and a few nephews parked their trucks across the winter road access and stood in the truck beds, with rifles. Only lasted 2 days, Rcmp did come but no charges laid , and yes she was awarded additional compensation on top of what she was already given years ago for developers consent. Don’t think that one made the news.

How about 5 years ago when a new section of line was being run between (Anzac) cheecham terminal down to Conklin terminal... there was another armed blockade that actually occurred on the south west corner of our trapline. Local native guy wanted some heavy equipment contracts, so him and a few employees
Transported a D8 and knocked a few cords of timber down across the pipeline right of way and parked the cat on top. Stood on the tracks with rifles and demanded a contract. They got it. Also the pipeline company requested that no charges be laid.
Don’t think that made the news ...
