I haven't done any tool restorations but I like restoring old firearms.

I've done several and am happy with the way they turned out.
Since this thread is about tool restorations and because I've already posted photos of a couple I've done, I won't post them here unless asked to.

Ken might remember one. He gave me an old break action shotgun. It pretty much looked like an old crowbar when I got it. The action was seized, the barrel brown with rust and the stock was well weathered.
Now it works and looks like any old shotgun one might see in a gun safe.

It doesn't look new, that wasn't the goal. I wanted it to look like a family heirloom rather then a store display item. I think I accomplished that.

You know, if anyone is into tool restorations I have an old chain saw.
My nephew found it buried in grass at an abandoned farm site.
I think it's a pioneer from around 1960.

I'll never do anything with it. I don't have the space for such a project, or the time.

I'd give it to a serious restorer. Unfortunately it might have to be a pick up only deal. There is a chance that I could deliver it, if it went to one of the towns that I do gun shows in but I can't afford to ship it and I can't afford too much long distance travel that isn't paying for itself.
