It's just luck of the draw. Last year on the closing day of the season we had our best day. Slayed them all day in gorgeous weather.
Change depths if things are slow. Not sure what depths you like to fish, but we start around 100 and get into 115-125 if things get slow. We usually run medium/large sized bait but this last trip the majority of fish came on minnows. Although our largest fish(12 lbs) came on a larger bait.
