I just did the math a while ago and this is what I came up with for the components I could find.

1-1/8 oz target load
#8 shot at $54.60 / 25 lb = $0.154 each
Claybuster wads at $18.89 / 500 = $0.038 each
Fed 209A primer at $48.29 / 1000 = $0.048 each
Tightwad Powder $25.65 (14 oz) = $0.067 each

Cost to reload (with no value considered for the hull) is $0.31 each

Not really worth it, but I did it anyway. I like reloading, it's somehow relaxing and rewarding for me. Got a used MEC9000. Just loaded up 1,000 on Friday night. I was being careful and not trying to break any records, did 1,000 in 3 hours including some tweaking time of the 9000.
