I've always sharpened them myself, but you have to be careful to follow the original bevel angle. I've spent years doing knives, fish hooks, broad heads and drill bits at work. These were pretty easy for me. Take your time, and don't get it hot. A very fine file and emery cloth is best if you aren't very comfortable with an angle grinder and fine flapper wheel, but small bursts to avoid heat. That's if you have nicks. If not, I find a block with a fine sand paper works well. A decent fixed vice is a must too. You can even strop it with leather after for a fine finish. Let your blades dry after use too, saves you a lot of time next time you sharpen if they aren't rusty.
