I did mean to thank you and 58thCat for the replies earlier, but didn't get to it. We tried to head down the Marie Lake Camp road, but got turned around half way due to ruts. Machine only was accurate, except maybe a truck or SUV with good clearance. I noticed another road to the souoth that was plowed but never bothered to try it, since google maps suggests that its mostly private property and no lake access. Fishing on the west side of Cold Lake was machine or walk-on only from English Bay, so we walked and made the best of it. Only caught two lakers, with a few misses and non-committers (must have been males
). Perhaps i'll finally get around to trying Cold Lake open water this year!
