Wow you sure lead a life a lot different then most on this forum, awesome and unique, your choice of rifle and calibre looks good but I would go to the BDL if looking for a 30-06 rifle, sight it in with the iron sights first with your chosen bullet, stick a scope on then and resight in, reason why is because it sounds like your life style the rifle might get a good wack on the scope if so you can always remove it and use the iron sights that have already been dialled in.
