We caught one a few years ago, over a wild boar for bait. It had a #3 soft catch on each ankle. Huge wing span. I put my coat over it and it remained quite calm while I removed the traps. We backed out slowly, returned an hour later and it was long gone. This was by Gibbons, so about 10 miles north of Edmonton. Also I saw one in a field by Legal about 15 years ago. My research also shows that they soar very high and can't be seen much.
