I can say with all certainty that a .257", 100 grain Nosler Partition, leaving the muzzle at 3440fps, will do just fine on bull elk, while entering the chest between ribs, smashing the lungs and aeorta, and then still blow clean through the offside shoulder at 255yds.
Providing there isn't some sort of HMI issue going on.
It's all about the HMI, dontchya know.
